Highly suggest ordering short shift with new cars

Was at my dealer talking to my buddies in Parts and they were telling me how the 997 short shift (which they have 2 in stock) is over $600 if you buy it after!!!!!!! If you have any plans of putting one in, I would do it when you order the car as it is quite a bit less!!

Fanman is infamous around these parts
I was looking at the order guide and it is $765 (option XCZ). I guess they would charge more to buy the part & install it.

Wow I take that back then... Don't order it, get it after the fact and have it installed!! Labor should be 1 hour which should be around $100!!

The new trans is so smooth and effortless even with the stock set up (15% shorter) than the stock 996.

how is the ssk compared to aftermarket ssk?
15% shorter is not all that much. but i am sure it's worth it.

If you order the car with the optional SS, it's 30% shorter than the stock 996. The stock shifter in the 997 is 15% shorter than the stock 996.

I made the 'mistake' of driving a 997 with the ssk. Just waiting for my ssk to arrive in the mail for my tt. What a slick shifter.
