Problem running diff front rear tire?

I currently have stock P-Zeros all around and the rears are wearing thin. Looking to replace the rears with something more economical. Earlier posts mentioned Hankook as good alternative. Would there be problem running different treads (P-Zeros front/Hankook rear)?

Any recommendation for tire installer in MD/VA area would be appreciated.

it is never reccomended but can be done. Real problems can come if you have different tread patterns on left to right. I would suggest running the same tires again as your front. When the fronts that you have on now wears out the rears would need replacing again soon as well. Jsut change to a cheaper set then.

I would get same tires on the back what were there, then when both front and rear will be worn off I would change entire set again.

I do not think anybody would recommend mixing completely different brands on rear and front.

+1, the rear tires wear at a rate of 2:1 to the fronts. Change all 4 tires to the cheaper ones, or buy two new rears to match the fronts.

I had for a while PZeros on the front and PS2s on the back. Handling was unsettled. On turn in it felt like the rear sidewall was flexing more and bouncing, leading to a feeling of being on the limit of rear traction and then back to normal traction. My tire pressures were at spec and I did not adjust rear pressure to compensate. I would not use different tires again.

If you replace all four with the Hankook's like you mentioned in your first post, rather then just the two rear's with Pirelli's, you'll actually come out about $150 cheaper ($750 for a set of four Hankook's versus $900 for two rear Pirelli's).
