All I need are clear streets, free of snow and salt. The cold dense air is a nice benefit to winter driving.

Same here. Drive it every chance I get on clear streets. Got through last winter on the summer tires. Too cold I know but the all wheel drive makes up for it as long as I don't get stupid.

Heck yes I drive in the winter. In Alabama there really is no such thing as winter, that most of you guys would think. No salt, no snow drifts and the winter in Alabama is a drier time of year so my car stays cleaner.

It is not driving the car in winter that worries me, it is being hit by other cars and trucks on the road... thats the worry!

I use my OEM Turbo 19's with 235/35/19, 295/30/19 Pirelli Sotto Zero Series II winter rubbers. The car has seen some crazy storms. It's like a tank in the snow i swear. Tonnes of fun guys don't be scared!

911's are made to be DRIVEN. A flat-6 might leak a little oil if she's not put through the paces. I'm putting Pirelli Snowsports on and driving my 2008 997 all winter long. Car washes every week though. With some luck I hope to have 20 extra hp for wintertime.

I live outside Boston and drive every day there is less than 3-4" of snow on the road, and as many as possible with the top down...

Put a set of winter tires on, add a coat and a silly hat, fire up the seat warmers and drop the top...

++++1

Around Massachusetts I dodge people all the time in SUV's (mostly with NH plates) sliding around in the snow. I have too many cars to let the C2S loose in the sand and salt.
