Octane Booster

Has anyone tried to use any type of octance booster. I bought a 104 octane booster and tried on my 997.2. It seemed to make the car feel a lot smoother in power delivery. The car felt a little more peppy also. Maybe it's just the placebo effect. Worth the $8 imho.

Anybody know if there are any problems these aftermarket octane boosters may cause in the DFI engines?

depending on what's in it, I might be worried about my fuel pump. I'd also be surprised if they actually make a difference; I won't believe it until I see a fair dyno comparison.

Find a local gas station selling race gas or other high-octane unleaded at the pump. Most bigger cities will have one.

The stuff in the bottle is useless and NOT cost effective. Total waste of money.

Or- if you are feeling frisky, go to your local chemical supply house and buy a drum of Toluene and mix own sweet custom juice...

997.2 will sense knock at individual cylinders and after the ECU slowly learns it can advance the timing, the car is much snappier.

I buy 100 unleaded race gas at the pump locally and the car loves it. Try VP Racing Fuels website for a station near you?

You all are wasting your money with octane booster and/or fuel with octane higher than 93.

Last weekend I was at Daytona for a 2 day track event. I ran 93 octane for a few sessions and then got lazy and bought the 98 octane at the race track. Yes 98 octance no ethanol. Guess what?...my lap times did not improve and my car did not feel any faster.

The reason I tried it was because only 91 is readily available here on the west coast. I wanted to see what 93 or close to 93 felt like.

Octane Booster

Who made the 98-octane fuel, with no ethanol?
