Battery maintainer wire door pass-thru

If you are away for a while and need to connect a battery maintainer to the cigarette lighter, where on the door do you feed the wire on a 997/997.2?

On 996s the bottom of the door weather stripping had a notch for that purpose, but that seems to be absent on the 997.2. Is there a good spot to avoid compressing the weather stripping permanently?

If you run your fingers down on the bottom of the door sill (and get your fingers all dirty), you'll feel a few places where there is some small indentation areas. I run mine in one of these and it seems fine.

I go either at the front or back of that hard plastic door sill with the hood releases. So far OK. I could see that if you left it stored for a long time without opening the doors, it could leave an impression but so far I see no signs of that.
