While looking for 997's I've noticed that they do not have any fender liner protection for the back wheel wells. The 996's have them, but for some reason not the 997. I"m guessing its to improve cooling? The thought of getting the exposed parts packed with wet leaves and other junk made me wonder what were they thinking!?

 

The mufflers are in there... too much heat for fender liners.
