JCS tow-hook license mount

Recently I have seen various posts showing evidence of a renewed enforcement of the front license plate requirement in some states. This is why I just purchased JCS' tow-hook mounting plate. I looked at several designs and selected this one. Why?

1 - It is well made. Well machined metal parts and good fasteners
2 - Great (light) black stiff plastic backplate - warp-free
3 - Flexible post mounting attach points, offering multiple offsets
4 - And most important - light weight as compared to other heavier designs.

I will keep it in the trunk. But, if the pressure is on I will put it on permanently. Off-center is not a bad thing. Many classic cars have off-center front plates.

Here are some pics I borrowed from another thread:

I have no affiliation with JCS (who BTW is a forum member but not a forum sponsor), just a satisfied customer.

+1 on JCS,

I bought mine in May so I could get my inspection done, since then it has been living in the trunk just in case. So far, here in MA, I have not been stopped for no front plate. Knock on wood.....

No pic, but I've got mine on now, working perfectly and looking good. Highly recommended.

Has anyone seen or used the NO HOLES kit from GMGMotorsports? gominigo.com Looks like a well built product. Made out of stainless steel. What was better about the JCS?

I keep mine on all the time. Honestly, it looks good, and I see no point in not having it on if you already have it. It is solely up to trooper`s mood to give you $150 fine for this or not if he stops you, fact that you have in in your trunk will not do you much help.

I keep mine on all the time, good product, fair price and while the car looks better without a front plate it doesn't look half-bad with this solution either. Plus it can install and remove with zero damage to the vehicle.

Great info! Hopefully he is still selling this?

Does he include instruction on the install?

How do you remove the tow hook cover? Hopefully the cover goes back on tightly after doing this? I want to pass inspection and get it removed asap.

You could use a flipout license plate holder such as this:

I have one from gominigo "no holes" whatever, I don't like it. I'm concerned that if I needed a tow I wouldn't be able to get it out. A lag bolt with a female end gets screwed into the tow hook then you assemble the rest.

Is there a link to this JCS system you recommend? Where can I see pictures of the parts?

Just take a look at the top of this thread. It's all there.

You have ISP issues. The links are fine. Except JCS contact info which was removed by a moderator!? Rolf is a forum member... I will PM you his contact.
