997.2: Anyone with chipped car ?
997.2: Anyone with chipped car ?
Or with modified ECU ? (call it as you wish)
I've seen Evomsit coming first, then GIAC, Softronic, etc..
There's the debate if sending the ECU is the only real modification (as a whole new program is installed) or if OBD tuning is acceptable (asmaller file is written on top of the stock file, but it can be erased at the dealer with any factory update from Porsche ?)
Wheter X or Y, has any of you with 997.2 modified the ECU ? If yes, which option and did you feel any improvement ?

I am waiting for the computer to relearn and for similar ambient to baseline for a full post review. So far- great! Very happy.
Bonus- the cable can be used for all Durametric features/code viewing/clearing.
FVD Brombacher just released a DIY/Durametric cable ECU remap. With their software you copy the OE map, it is uploaded to their tuner (in Germany!), they remap based upon your specific set-up and download back to you in approx 24 hours. Also you get a copy of original map to flash back to stock any time you like.

I remember reading that you installed the complete exhaust setup and that you had some CEL lights, but the ECU tuning would cure them
So, have you felt any difference after upgrading your ECU ? Is the process easy or not ?
And allow time for the ECU to relearn/adapt.
Yes, I thought it was very easy. You MUST have a battery charger as the time to read the OE file is 30-40 minutes and the during the load of the new tune the blower runs on high and lights turn on (you must allow this to happen).
The CEL has not come back, so yes that is fixed. I am happy so far and could recommend the FVD tune and especially the full exhaust package to any 997.2 owner.
PS- unless you choose to tell your service tech, the ECU tune is 100% invisible to them. It is invisible to the Porsche PIWIS tester.
