My introduction - From Australia
Hi cl997, yes the dealership has registered me with the PCNSW and I will be attending the next event as well as the track day with PCSS. I haven't been to a track-day since I owned an Integra R, so it will be strange to drive such a different car! (like driving the integra in reverse?)
So far I'm finding the ride quality GREAT! It doesn't jar or crash over bumps. It feels more like a controlled thud. The only problem would probably be the tyre roar from those 295 treads! It's almost as loud as my Type R with Toyo R888 road semi-slicks. When I took it up to the Hunter Valley region for the weekend it was almost deafening on the coarse stuff, I had to double the volume on the stereo.
I read in Wheels magazine in the "911 around Australia" article they used ear-muffs.

It will be very interesting to read Robo's comments on the 997 in next months mag, particularly given he ran a 996 in Italy for an extended period.
I wonder how they will resolve this in future models of the 911 without compromising the feedback and tactility of the chassis.
I read how they are now using dynamic engine mounts for the new Turbo and it got me thinking...
Besides using different tyre design I can only see them fine tuning the materials used in the cabin or structural acoustic design to lessen the amount of vibration entering the cabin. Maybe even employing those dynamic engine mounts and some sort of dynamic suspension mounts could be used...

Nice write up! Congrat's on the new purchase, it looks great!
Me and S.Arnold are expecting to see more of you in the new year after you skipped Bathurst
Well in Australia all 911 models come with the BOSE, Telephone module and a few others as standard.
The difference between the C2S and C2 is of course the 3.8L motor (more power) as well as the thicker front rotors. 19" Carrera II S wheels and PASM is standard in the S but I think that's about it. It costs around $30,000 AUD more
I would've preferred the C2S but at $256,000 AUD the C2 was already a stretch as I was considering a C63 AMG or a Cayman S. I didn't go for the Cayman because in heart I really wanted a 911 and didn't want to settle on a substitute.

More keen to do some ECR days and Burrows etc next year. Simon is as well. Don't know that I'll follow you at pace through turn 1 though with the new rear wing
Have you had it fitted?Hey Mark,
When's the new avatar coming? You got rid of the M3?
I hear through the grape vine you owe someone a set of Zipp 1080s?

)1080's

Little Simon is too lite for 1080's....it's a cross wind thing. But here's a pic

Aero wheels make all the difference! What kind of rig is that? Colour looks great on it.
