Missing Stone guard

Has this happened to anyone else? I picked up a new 09 C2 two weeks ago and it was missing the stone guard on the passenger side. Not a big deal and the dealer said they will order it and put it on. Just curious if this has happened to anyone? Any reason to be paranoid and think that it is missing because there were some subsequent body work or touch ups done at the dealer?

Im not sure if these are added at the port or factory but dealer rarely stocks them. They might have touched up a scratch or two and its not uncomon for the car to have paint blemishes needing fixed stateside - yes, even passing QC at the factory.

I would not worry about it, just limit freeway driving if you can and keep your distance, that part picks up lots of road debris.
