Car Cover Techniques

So I just bought a car cover from Suncoast for my 06 997S. It'll be parked under a car port as well. I'm concerned about dirt on the car prior to covering. The cover had a cloth liner and my concern is that dirt will transfer into the lining and then act like sandpaper on the car. Any comments, suggestions, Ideas?

I have an indoor cover and the ONLY time I will put it on is right after I wash the car. I would never put it on a dirty car but I may a bit more obsessive than others when it comes to my paint

I live in the bay area and barring this week... the winters are mild. Wet but mild. I primarily drive the car on the weekends so giving a rinse before I cover it is easy but what about letting it dry?

I would almost recommend wheel covers, but I could be a little OCD. I hate seeing tire marks on the covers! Also make sure the engine is cool when you install the cover, otherwise the exhaust tips could melt the cover.

Correct, never put the cover on unless car is clean or "detail sprayed/wiped" after use. It only takes one careless /lazy moment to ruin a perfect shine....

I wish I would have read this positng earlier....Now I just grimmace at the black circles on the inside of my car cover....

I think I will go online to get a new one now.
