997.2 attacking the track.
Nice pics, red does not usually look so nice....most pics of red P-cars look "orangey"...this one is a nice deep red....
I am liking the red seat belts....worth $500?? growing on me....

Thanks Sharky! A little birdie told me we may actually end up seeing a very similar variation of this as the 997.2 Aero Package.
Remember, you heard it from me first..hehe.
Thanks carfan! We do all the testing and experimentation so that you guys don't have to.
Much appreciated Stacy!!

nice..close track to my house. Have only been there once, and it was a "night" event and the track was new (and green), so I was not that impressed. I love doing DE events at Homestead and Sebring, but a) that is a hault of a drive, and b) the events are pricey. WHat does Braman sponsored events usually run fee wise? Also, are most people able to drive solo with a check-out drive, or do they make you have a ridealong instructor>? I just last week was approved as solo with Henry's Hooked on Driving.

Basically, they rent the track for the day for their customers. They usually break it up into 4 groups, with 2 to 3 runs per group, then a break for a nice catered lunch, then 3 or 4 more runs after lunch. In the summer the events are held at night, but in the winter, they're day events. It's a very casual event. You can definitely drive solo, even with minimal or no experience. Shoot me a PM with your email address and I'll get some information over to you. Or you can contact Braman directly.
Nice looking car, really like the black-on-red!
A question re aerodynamics,
I assume downforce is (greatly?) increased at the rear by adding the wing and as an effect probably changing the balance front<->rear quite a bit. These cars have quite a bit more lift at the front vs the rear to begin with. Any negatives experienced?
I was told by local dealer that Porsche themselves advices against installing the rear Aero kit wing only for aerodynamic reasons. Same goes for many of the European tuners, Manthey etc.

We did testing with the wing prior to the track and we did not experience any issues with lift in the front nor excessive downforce in the rear. The thoughts that you expressed were also discussed internally over here as well.
I will let you know how the new GT3 front bumper / splitter makes a difference once its installed. Im very curious to see if it adds to the balances of the vehicle.
