There was a robbery in Monterey Park this morning. Police are trying to determine if the suspects followed the victims home.

Has anyone on this forum been followed home because you are driving a Porsche?

In 1995 I caught a guy sitting in my Porsche . From a distance he looked like a teen and I thought he was a kid because my car was parked at a school . In fact the guy waived at the school security and was well dressed . As I got closer saying "hey get outta my car" he jumped out and I realized he was about 25 years old . He dove into an SUV and I was standing right in front of it . He had an accomplice . They almost ran me over . From that day on .. I have been vigilant with keeping both eyes open 100 percent of the time . The biggest surprise that a theif has is when his victim is NOT surpised . By the way .. I have thwarted at least 4 other incidents since then .

 

I haven't been followed by anyone ever, but this family was killed after being followed b/c they were driving a Mercedes. http://www.people.com/people/archive...059158,00.html

 

I live in a gated community with 24x7 security guards so it helps. But it's a scary thought though, if they follow you to a friend's house.

 

I can see that happening. Last part of my drive is pretty quiet street and I'll know if someone is following. If I see a car following me I won't go home right away and drive around for a while until I'm sure I'm safe.

 

When I was a kid, my dad owned a 68 Pontiac Catalina which he hated. He used to leave the keys in the car on the driveway hoping it would get stolen! Well..one day the car was gone. When the police found the car, much to my father's dismay, it was only 2 blocks away. He was more pissed that he had to walk to go get it than the fact the hassles of the police report, insurance report, ect. Go figure
