Sounds like you need to pay a visit to your local dealership. My guess is you need the firmware update. You'll be amazed how well it will work after that.

So what does your PHONE itself do? Does your phone shut down its bluetooth connection when its in idle until a call comes in? It could be your phone disconnecting.. so the Porsche disconnects... There are many possibilities between the PCM and a host of specific phones, that I'd be hesitant to blame a particular party without understanding the specifics of all of the equipment and configuration options at play in the situation. My Env3 hooks up and stays hooked up the whole time (unless the phone is mistakenly powered down in my front pocket while moving around.. which happens on occasion)

Not 100% sure but it asks if I want to connect to PCBC??(Porsche computer) I say yes...it connects..you see the 4-5 bars in lower left screen of car , thenPHONE says PCBC disconnected..but my address book is still uploaded. It is a new phone ('09 model) so it is not out dated. It asks everytime I turn the car on if I want to connect. Shoudn't it automatically connect after a few minutes. That's how it is in wifes X5..it never asks me, just happens automatically. Twice before I did receive calls thru the bluetooth so I know it can work. What gives?

One thing to check is in your phone BT settings to make sure Auto Handsfree is On and your power off delay is not too short a time. The phonebook transfer is a different BT protocol from the talk side (this is why my old Nokia used to talk fine with my BMW but the phonebook would not transfer) so having one work doesn't mean the other will. On the phonebook side it is a pull protocol and that is why you have the option in PCM to auto sync or manually synch. My phone (Moto) moved from BMW to Porsche without any problem; however from time to time the PCM locks up the phone BT side (never happened with BMW, ever) and I have to power cycle the phone to get it to work. PCM also sometimes drops the BT connection (PCM to phone, not call itself; never happened with BMW), normally it reconnects immediately but sometimes I have to power cycle the phone to get it to pair again.
