Generally, true, but when I'm at a standstill on I-90 or crawling along at 10mph, I've got time to drink my morning coffee.

Or, when I'm bringing my McDonalds lunch home to eat there, I need to stabilize my large drink somewhere stable.

There are uses that don't imply drinking soda at 100mph.
