19" wheels, 997 & 996

From a Mag. article quoting Jan Fatthauer head of the tuning co. 9ff.

"A significant reason for the 997's suspension redesign was to allow for the use of 19" wheels and tires.
" We avoid the use of 19's on the 996, they may look good, but they ruin the steering feel and handling of the car, although you get more mechanical grip with the 19's, they also desensitise the driving experience, spoil the ride, and increase bump steer.
For those who enjoy driving we recommend 18" as the maximum on the 996."

Interesting quote.

Its true, the 996 is designed for an 18" application and the 19" is for all the show and thats it.
