Spacers Installed!!
Hi, Do you feel the car handles differently after spacers? I have put same size spacers at the rear and now I feel the car is different. Or maybe I am thinking it handles different. Wanted someone else's opinion!
Different good or different bad?P does recommend same size spacers to go front and back.....maybe thats why. My tyre guy said (who's an ex racer) when i was looking at doing spacers once you go much more than 5 to 7mm off centre/bearing axis you need to compensate the extension of the outer wheel on the inner rim by same amount otherwise you mess with things such as balance, tracking etc. He seemed to know what he was talking about. He refered to a P car which had BBS aftermarket rims with too much on the outer wheel (to give the car the tougher look) and they couldnt get the car to drive right....tracked and had wheel vibration at freeway speeds, felt odd to drive etc. They wound up going back to using wheels with the correct stock offsets and it fixed it straight away (rear BBS rims were @16mm out off centre, fronts were within 10). He said thats why P doesnt recommend the use of spacers beyond 5mm unless you have a wide body C4/turbo and want to use the C2 style rims which have different offset on rear. Thats when you use the 17mm spacers on rear...to pull it all back to where its meant to be.
Vanity usually results in compromise somewhere unfortunately.

Hi Spees 21!
As you said above, I am talking about the vibration, freeway speed and generally feeling odd.
It feels different but not to an extent where I feel it is wrong. But you've explained that the wheels I am using may not be best used with spacers. Thanks for your reply!!

No worries jus587. I'd step back to below 10mm and get the car to drive properly again. The 5mm factory spacer kit is perfect and gives a nice look, has the longer bolts with lock nuts and the set screws to lock the spacers on to the disc hubs. I found they really did the trick. A P car has to drive right more than look right imo
.
.I do, however, like the more aggressive look. With PASM Sport Suspension Package the car is lowered 20mm which helps contribute to the lower stance.
All good points of view on spacers. I do not track and don't plan to, so I don't believe the 7/15 set up should be a problem. At highway speeds (and bit faster) I haven't noticed any vibrations or difference from stock. Also, haven't driven hard on the esses yet to feel a difference at the rear.

I agree 7/15mm setup is a really aggresive look! Good for you that your car is riding fine after spacers~ In your case it is definitely not a problem. Again I think it comes down to different wheels.
Spacers Installed: Updated Pics
What a beautiful day in the Bluegrass state today. Took the car out for a ride, but before I did, took a few more pics to show stance with spacers installed 7mm front, 15mm rear.
