led turn signal relay

I'm sure many of you remember the LED DRLs I created a while ago. I want to do a small mod to them but am not sure exactly how to do it. My plan is to have the led shut off when the turn indicator is engaged, just like the Audis do, so the indicator is more visible. My original idea is to install a relay that will cut power to the LEDs when it receives power from the turn signals, the problem is that those blink so I'm guessing the power will shuffle the relay on and off. Any other ideas?

you are talking some rewiring...you need a constant voltage from the input side of the flasher unit...you could use the existing fog light wiring to get that voltage to the rear of the car to your relay...that would solve the rear...you will probably have to run a separate wire to the front unless there is an unused wire in the harness

This is what I'm talking about:

There must be an easier way to do this than rewiring.

would something like that work? It seems to take a low voltage pulse and hold a steady stream.

in the video there seems to be a delay after the flashing stops before the led's come back on...in the write up for that device it discusses the unit counting the pulses after the last pulse...you might need a voltage divider or 5v zener to get your input pulse down to 5v from 12v...it doesn't say if the input will take 12v...you don't want to do any rewire but where are you going to get the constant 12v for this unit to turn on?
