I just purchased the STi. They warn that some Porsches have a soft anti-lacerative coating on the inside of the windshield and that use of the suction cup mounts will permanently mar the coating.

My car is an 09 4scab. Does anyone know if these cars have this coating?

 

I've never heard of any damage as a result of suction cups, my car included. I believe all cars have some sort of layer on the inside of the windshield to protect your face from the actual glass should they meet at high speeds.

If your worried about suction cups, why don't you get a "G Bracket"?
