Okay. now X51 is my choice.
Then where can I get two new block gaskets and twleve new manifold bolts for x51 headers? Suncoast?

By the way, do I really need to replace them?

I reused my exhaust gasket and bolts when I installed mine. No leaks. Just make sure your gasket is still in good shape (not bent or creased). Some people will argue that they are cheap enough parts to just use new ones regardless, and some bolts may snap on you in the middle of the instal if you aren't careful. You can get these at the same place you get your headers, or any $tealership.

One important thing, make sure you torque the head bolts (19 ft lbs) and don't cross thread them, you'll be in big trouble if you do.

Suncoast clearly states that the headers come with gaskets and bolts.

As others have said, it's a waste to get just headers. There's no significant change in any aspect of performance or sound doing just that. I've had a variety of systems on my 997.1 and my overall favorite was: X51 headers, AWE 200 cell cats, stock mufflers, and Softronic. One thing that always worried me about the AWE headers was that they were very exposed - nervous about scraping them exiting a steep driveway / apron. The combo I outlined had great sound and a significant boost in performance as evidenced by my TraqMate data and relative performance to other cars (ie: A car I previously ran equal to apples-to-apples I was then able to pull away from - and the TraqMate data showed this as well).

997.2 is a different animal altogether. Sharkwerks primary bypass and Softronic is all I have on this car and I'm very happy with it. This car is "silly fast" compared with my 997.1.

sorry to ask a question on this post but I guess its pertinent to the subject. I have a tubi exhaust and evoms intake. Whats the next logical upgrade? high flow cats or headers?

Cats...this is where there is power to be gained, the headers just seem to fatten the midrange up a bit with a tad more topend.

With a cab, I'd say you are all set. Tubi is on the loud side on its own, so if you changed headers and cats, you'd end up with what I had with a full AWE set: Ear-bleeding loud. You've changed the intake and slightly changed the exhaust parameters, so maybe Softronic flash.

i appreciate the info RonCT. I definately don't want to go too much louder. With the top down it can be pretty loud. I guess I will look into the softronic

Ive spoke to a lot of guys who say you are better with stock cats and doing aftermarket muffler and headers.. Im not really sure . How come you get the most power from cats?
