Shipping from CA to MA - thoughts?

In response to my other topic (https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-thoughts.html) I am looking for thoughts on shipping companies and costs from CA to MA. Any help would be great.

Thanks
Phil

I would use one your employer has big discount with. With no discount it may be cheaper to drive it down here.

Fly out, drive it back. A springtime cross country drive in your new Porsche = perfect bonding

I just shipped our cars from Boston, MA to San Diego, CA for our move. I paid ~$800 for an open carrier for the Audi and ~1750 for an enclosed carrier for the Porsche.

Let me know if you need any references.

I had my car delivered via Horseless Carriage enclosed transport and I could not have been happier. They picked-up the car when they said they would and delivered it when they said they would without incident. They gave me their driver's cell number and he and I talked a couple of times along the way. Definitely an A+ transaction. Good luck!

Regards,
Frank A.

Either way, you can't go wrong! I had this same dilema with my recent purchase! Ended up driving my trade to Chicago and then driving the C2S back to MA! Not sure I would do that from CA to MA. I will admit the way back was much, much better! One thing it definately allowed for was a much better understanding of all the electronics in the vehicle! I feel it would have taken me much longer to fully learn how to operate the nav/radio/bluetooth/ipod! I'm sure I could have read the manual but then I'd be reading instead of driving!

Covered is about 500+ more than non. Dealerships was 1150 uncovered. I talked to intercity and they wanted 1650 covered. Shipping is the last hurdle I have, other than seeing the car in 2 weeks. Thanks for the help on this.

I've shipped many a car to/from Pittsburgh to the West coast. $1650 to MA covered is a good price. Having it in 2 weeks does not.

It will be 2 weeks before I see the car in person. I plan to fly out to SD to see the car before I purchase.
