Considering replacing my laptop on our cross country trip, this summer with an
Ipad 3G for use as a reader, e-mail and web.
Besides charging, can you use the USB port for music, in universal interface, and other stuff?
What works and what doesn't?
I have Nav, so that's not important.

 

I was thinking that an iPad would be cool as a replacement to the PCM. Imagine having that there, for internet, movies, music, etc? Would be awesome. Use the web for navigation, etc. You'd have it all.

3G and wi-fi cannot replace Sat Navigation, unfortunately, especially in the mid-far west, where cell phone coverage is scarce
