997.2 - Ipod

I am using an old Ipod with my PCM and it always stays charged.
I think it is on its last legs and I remember seeing a year ago somewhere that the new ipods dont charge on the Ipod connection supplied by Porsche when one has the Ipod option. Is there now a new connection cord that will charge the newer versions of the Ipod or is that a software update.
Thanks for the help

hey Lockie, I had the first Ipod video and it was on its last leg too. Even while keeping it charged it was very slow on shuffle mode and was constantly restarting. I just ended up getting a new nano. Much happier with it, a lot faster too.

I bought a Classic 120 (think they are 160 now) right after I got my car last year, and no problems - it uses the standard cable. Some other model iPods require the newer "double" cable.

I had no idea this cable existed. Thank you!!! I've been using an old nano that only works when connected which is fine but it doesn't have the storage space to hold my entire music library. Picking one of these up immediately.
