Gator Skin is infamous around these parts
I'll cut it down to two from my previous:
1) order SmartTop asap; vivid racing usually has a 6speed discount but check with them; again, this makes the cab way easier to operate and has lots of other perks; its an easy self install; check it out at http://www.wit-usa.com/sms/shop/inde...ode=view&id=45

2) I'm just not a huge fan of the stock tone; I love the Porsche sound but I think Porsche could have made the tone a bit different. That would be my main reason for changing the exhaust in the cab so you can listen to the music as you drive with the top down. I have a Borla en route just because I want the growl a lower and louder; I've also heard drone is not as back in cabs b/c there is less resonance with the soft top. Listen to a few in person if you can before you decide, youtube doesnt really tell you much about the sound.

Oh yeah, that car has plenty of power. Not trying to do anything crazy with the car. Just want to hear car purr a little more and do some exterior mods to keep it clean yet aggressive. =)

Yeah, I would like to switch out the tone too. I just gotta keep digging to find out the perfect tone for this beauty. Post a video of your borla exhaust when you do get it!

Oo, and that smartTOP is SICK! A must for sure!

In terms of exhaust, be sure when you hear different one's in person and/or when other people give you their opinion, it is based on a Cab versus coupe. My car is a Cab and I wanted to make sure it wasn't way to loud with the top down. AWE was my exhaust of choice. Great sound, not to loud at lower rpm's but incredible when you open it up. No droning at all.

SmartTOP is a must.

I will surely post a video when I get it installed but agree with others about having to hear it in person.

Gator Skin, you make a good point about cab's being less prone to drone due to soft top. Damn, the fabspeed bypass sounds really good and the price is soo cheap. Lol, i keep on coming back to it.

Again it will drone and it is illegal (to my knowledge).

What does your dad want? I know you want to make it everything you want it to be but my guess is he is happy with it exactly the way it is. Just want to make sure that anything we say he is happy with.

Haha, he is actually willing to mod the car. I don't want to go gung ho with mods. I think exhaust is one thing he would be happy to switch out. Not for the power but for opera the car is capable of singing .

I am just looking for options to show him down the road. But also, I don't want him to have any headaches, so the illegal portion and the droning aspect is a big consideration against it (most likely out of the running). But I love the sound of bypass and want to see if there is anything out there that can replicate it. Any ideas? TIA

Btw, the car I believe has the sports chrono package (has the clock in the of the dashboard). What exactly are the features of that and how do you turn it on? I didn't get much time at home to read the manual =/

I am doing my own research on it right now on it myself but any info/direction would be greatly appreciated.

Sport chrono:
good: sport button with improved throttle response/mapping
useless (unless you track): you can keep and save track times with the clock but its kind of tricky and most people dont use it. I really like how it drives with sport on so I plan on doing a flash where the sport is left on all the time; usually I have PASM in normal b/c its stiff enough for me already (unless I'm driving on a really smooth surface).

TBH I am not sure. I was told once that it makes everything crisper and faster but I don't notice anything between when it is ON with PASM and when it is OFF with PASM.

For PDK is makes the car shift faster and some other stuff.

EDIT: I reserve the right to be wrong as I am very new to Porsche

Agree with you on most points. I can understand skipping the ECU flash because with most NA cars, a flash won't change much (not a good band for the buck), but why skip the intake?

Intake on an NA car is the same thing. It will make an audible difference but that is it. Most people dont see the need plus there is nothing wrong with the stock airbox.
