Other's are right about it's your money. If you can't wait then go for it. All I can tell you is I could of got a launch car for substantially more off than you can. The 900 miles is not that big of deal. I had a 1st/pre production 99 996. I had the usual issues like others, but I should have waited a little longer to some of the bugs out.
Thanks. Since you didn't end up buying it, could you let us know approximately how much off we're talking here. Please PM me if you'd like.

launch

My friend was going to buy a luanch edition at jack daniels in NJ. It was sold and being returned with 1600 miles on the car. The owner said the ride was too stiff. My friend was going to buy it for 88K. He did not buy it because the dealer told him that he had to make a decisoin right away because he had 3 other buyers for the car and he also tried to raise the price to 91K. According to the dealer this car was never test driven it was always in the showroom.

My friend turnmed it down because he did not want to be rushed. When he went there yesterday the car was still there the salesman had lied about other customers fighting over the car. So my friend walked again. The var is still there.

jUST BUY A NEW CAR AND BE DONE WITH IT!The only reason for buying the launch car is price so get a brand new one 'cause all you are doing is really buying depreciation time as someone said earlier on!also,if you cant get a better dollar deal always find out what the dealer has laying around in wheels, exhausts, etc 'cause most of the time these trade-in's are bought into stock at a very low price (if any) and it is easier for the dealer to 'throw them in' then give a higher price discount.how do i know this?I'm a car dealer of course!

yes to all the above,i traded the TT on the yellow Murci. Those Techart 19's looked way cool with the factory aerokit dont you think? If you want to see pics look in the member gallery with the red 360 as the 'main' photo.BTW,the lady who owns the TT now is in the same family as the 2 bro's who used to own the Murci PLUS i bought her RS4 wagon! All this was through dealers and unbeknown to me at the time.Freaky eh?
