An 05 car with increased risk of repair expense (RMS/IMS) , no warranty, and miles may look like a 997S but it might feel like a money pit . No car is fun if an owner is driving a rental while its in service only to face a large repair bill. That's what is most important to avoid.

The market prices are awful at this time .

An 08 Cayman with CPO and low miles will at least keep an owner out of the shop and the car is affordable. (low 40's ask means 30's usually). It's a great car .

The problem with a Porsches sold at NON Porsche dealerships is that too often those cars are bought at auction and.. it may look pretty but that's going to make it reliable.

Usually California (especially So cal) is a great place to find cars. There are cars but do you want to pay 68K for an 07 when guys were buying 08 cars over a year ago at those prices?

Your advice is sound. I think i will just test drive and wait and hope that prices will come down or somebody excepts an offer. Of course I would post for opinions before buying. Thanks it's very comforting getting you guys help. I even know what a DME is now.
