Once in a while I'll give it a real clean and polish it nice. My neighbour goes nuts because he's a fanatic about cleaning his 993 C4S.
Just to clear the air, I don't even go to the extent to keeping it clean. Sometimes I look at my car and compare it to Hank Moody's car (although I am not missing a headlight).

Nice. I respect that. I drive my car in the winter with the stock suspension And everybody looks at me like I'm nuts. It's a car! Enjoy it!

I too drive it all year round, however when the salt hits the roads, I take the Touareg. I leave the PS2's on all year (except at the track)

Ottawa winters take a real man.

Actually, I'm looking for a tow vehicle for the winter months. Otherwise I'm going to have to put the car back to stock.

Yes, I lived in TO for 4 (too many) years, and know that they are much different then what I get out here.

Having a good tow vehicle that can get you around on the ugly days is worth it's weight.

If your beer fridge cost you 80k+ new and had dirt and brake dust all over it I bet you would wax and polish it as well.

I know the car is the same dirty as clean, but a lot goes into the design and exterior stuff like paint. I see no reason I cannot keep it looking in tip top shape.

What ever makes you happy.

Some guys mod the hell out of them, others leave them bone stock. Some guys will wash them twice a day and others let Mother Nature take care of that. Some track, some don't.

The car is meant to be enjoyed. Do what makes you happy.

cleanliness is next to godliness (unless it is dirty from being on the track or the weather being bad or from a road trip or just being lazy for an extra week or any other reason other than being too lazy to ever wash it)

As long as you are enjoying your car, it is all good!

It is a beautiful car!

Sometimes life is just too busy to allow for the simple pleasures of washing a car. I have my own business that I work 60hr weeks (M-F), I have two young kids, and a big house that requires a lot of work to keep in tip top shape. If I have free time, washing my car is way down the list of things that I need or want to get done. My car is well kept other then the washing, I do a lot of maintenance, and is garage (heated in the winter) kept and is plugged into the charger when it sits for more then a night.

A Porsche is designed to be driven, washing it all the time will lead to premature paint failure.

LOL. We don't want that happening! I'm worried enough about my intermediate shaft!

Sounds like a personal problem there, Pilgrim.

About that, I would think many many people who know far more about paint and detailing would say that unless you go overboard, use bad products, and have no idea what you are doing...you would be hard pressed to induce premature paint failure.
