Engine oil question...

Sorry to bother you all with a newbie kind of question but I did do a search and could not find an exact answer to this question...

I have a 08 997 S with a stick and about 7,000 miles on it. I am 2 bars down according to the oil monitor.

I read the manual regarding what oil to add (Mobil 1) and how much but it was a little vague on the viscosity – giving a couple choices.

Based on living in So Florida and the fact that I like to run it a bit hard (high RPMs through the gears) what viscosity oil would you all recommend?

Also, from what I deciphered from the manual, based on being 2 bars down, it needs about a half a quart? Confirmation of this would also be helpful.

Thanks and "enjoy the ride"!!!
Nick

Each bar is about 1/4 litre or 1/4 quart for the imperial people, and Porsche recommends 0W40, which is what I run. You may want to consult you dealer as to the optional weights for your area, but if possible keep the weights consistent to what was put in at the last oil change.
