Aftermarket Drop/Toe Links and Winters

Hi All,

I've been seriously researching doing a mild suspension tune up and have been looking into the adjustable drop links and tow links along with some sways for my car...but winter concerns me. I have heard that the adjustable parts don't really dig being driven in the winter due to the salt and grime that can accumulate on them.

Who all has experience DDing a car with the drop/toe links and sways? I'd really hate to put some money into the car only to have to replace them after driving through another annoying Boston winter. ...and no, there's no chance I won't drive it through the winter, I couldn't stomach garaging it for that long with no love. Thanks guys.

Interesting question. I lived in Boston for a few years with a daily driver C4 dual use street/track car with some mods, but not the ones you're asking about. I have sways and coilovers, but not adj. droplinks/toe links.
Other than some vendors, I don't think there's much expertise here on this (although I could be wrong).
Personally, I'd suggest posting the question on the Rennlist Racing and DE forum. I think there are a lot more folks there that have done track mods on street/track cars.
Good Luck -

interesting question. I have TPC Racing's stage 3 suspension kit (includes drop links and toe links) and may give Tom or Mike a call and see what they say.

I have had GMG rear upper links & front/rear toe steer links & TRG drop links for 1.5 years & 10000 miles with no issues whatsoever.

they are generally superior to the products they are replacing (the non-adjustable factory drop links are rubbish) and are no more suceptible to problems resulting from their environment than the factory parts

Thanks for the input guys. E55AMG, I'd definitely be interested in what they have to say. I'm of the same frame of mind as you Chuck, I would believe that they would be superior products as well, but always want to be absolutely sure...that's why i love the forum, it's a great resource.
