Any reason to avoid 05 launch cars?
They are beginning to get long in the tooth so to speak. Should I not consider any 2005 model year cars in my search given I keep seeing references to possibly increased IMS/RMS issues, launch year, etc.? Would I be better off looking at 2006 and forward?
Btw - I'm looking to get as new and low mileage as possible but there's just something about the 05 launch cars that have me currently also considering them. That is the only 05 car I'm considering.
I plan to be driving the snot out of the car daily so am looking for a car that has had a decent amount of depreciation hit before I make it worse with miles.

The biggest difference between an '05 and an '06 to '08 - as far as the engine is concerned - is that the '06s to '08s have a sturdier IMS than the '05s. Also, if you were so inclined later, you can put the X51 kit on a 2006 and up car but it cannot be installed on a 2005 model; it's an expensive modification for sure and most wouldn't go for it but you could, if you wanted to on the later cars.
