*AERODYNAMICS THREAD* What type of parts would you guys like to see made?

Hi Everyone,

We have had many custom requests from customers to build custom and one off spoilers and other Aero parts. We are looking to develop some new parts and would like to see what the drivers of these cars would like to see.

Are their any specific types of parts, lips, spoilers, side skirts etc. that are not available that you would like to see made?

Any input will be considered and we will use this thread to put together some images and designs and have everyone out there vote and voice their opinions.

Your input is appreciated.

Thanks.

A replica of the new 997.2 aerokit.
Or the new gt3 wing
:)

I think there should be a lip available from a company like yours for the 997.1 GT3/Aerokit bumper that is much smaller that the stock lip, and flexible like the cup lip. I think many people have that bumper (or want it), and they love the look, but don't like the ground clearance on the front, particularly if the car is lowered.
These things can be swapped out by the owner in no time, and your small lip could solve this problem.
I've heard of one 6-speeder with 3 lips - one for daily driving, one for special occasions like cars and coffee, and one as a spare (Im not so sure about the 3rd)
Anyway - your lip could be the main lip, or the daily driver lip...

I'll second that!

in addition to what the guys said..

i will talk about the carrera S..

i am looking around for a nice body kit for the C2S, but still didnt find something complete..

for example:

the techART aerokit for the carrera looks great, front spoiler, side skirts and a rear diffuser.. but that rear diffuser is just an add-on.. if u install the front and sides, it will become lower, but the rear bumper is naked and is higher than the rest of the car.. so that incomplete for me..

----

another thing we miss in the narrow body porsches, is a nice subtle side skirt.. the owners of the wide body have the GT2 sideskirts from porsche to install on their cars, but they wont fit the narrow bodies, therefore if u look for a sideskirt it has to be bulky and very aggressive..

----

im not sure if u have the ducktails done by now, but alot of people are in the market for a ducktail after it was on the carrera sport classic..

----

i really beleive you should do something about the rear bumper, a simple GT2 style sideskirt for the narrow body carrera, and a ducktail...

hope i've helped u guys with ur survey ;)

would love to see a Techart Type III style wing made. Many wings are qutie loud and suited for track use but for everyday use sometimes something a little understated works well.

I agree with Jack 667. There is a big market for a very simple, small, flexible front splitter. One that would cover/protect the lower edge of the existing front lip AND be easily replaceable. I would keep 2 or 3 on hand just to change out as they get damaged.

2nd a nice simple rear wing which would enhance the lines of the cab. Something along the lines of the Techart but at a reasonable price.

Wheel arches like those found on the cup cars.

I agree with all of the above comments. Speaking from a 997.1 owner, the front lip like the TT lip for a factory aerokit car would be PERFECT!!!

The GT2 sideskirt idea has been thrown around before on here, and I'm honestly surprised someone hasn't jumped on the idea (wish I had the skills to produce :D).

The new GT3 RS wing with the lid/ aluminum uprights and top wing for the 997.1 narrow body cars would be excellent as well.

To add, the rear diffuser that many people were ranting and raving about, including me, is shown below. However I never found anyone still producing it. To me, it's perfect for the 997.1 cars, but I've only seen them most recently for the 997.2's. Also, the Rinspeed rear bumpers that are no longer available for the narrow body cars would be a big hit. Just my $.02.

Glad to see you guys looking for feedback! Says a lot! :)

I second the rinspeed rear bumper. Without the rinspeed price ofcourse.
Thanks

Thanks for the input guys. We will definitely be taking all into consideration. We are going to develop some lips, side skirts, rear diffusers and new rear spoilers.

If anyone has any images or renderings that they would like to suggest, or even images of existing factory parts please post them. We will be keeping you posted with our progress as well.

Regarding more images, while looking at your site I found these pictures(both with and without diffuser), of the Rinspeed bumper (I believe) I was referring to under your 997GTM section. Just FYI for reference.
