How to reset oil service indicator?

If I change the oil myself, is there a way to reset the oil service indicator without using a computer/tool, or does it have to be done at the dealer?

Thanks guys!

To be done right, its gotta be done at the dealer with the PIWIS.

You can buy the PC software solution, but that only does a big reset on the counter, and resets to the default max for the car, which doesn't reset the service reminder to the correct value (eg 1 year/10k miles, but 2 years 20k miles for my 09).

Durametric indicated they were looking into it.... if they will solve this problem is unknown.

So you can use a pc and durametric to turn of the reminder until 2 years from the reset, but not set it to the next time you need a reminder (say your brake flush is due in 9 months from the oil change date.. durametric cannot do that yet).

Is this an issue for a 997.1? A lot of people changing their own oil on this forum, how do they deal with it?
