Thought I'd share...

Just thought I'd share the P-car that I get to drive every once in a while. It's a 2010 911 Carrera S cab. with PDK and it's my aunt's second P-car. Her first was a 1999 911 Carrera cab(manual). It is pretty much fully loaded as far as interior amenities go. I absolutely love this, it's a joy to drive!

Sorry for the poor quality, these were taken with my iPhone.

LOL hilarious
She knows I'm a huge car fanatic and it's something that we both share. She also happens to trust my driving ability, and she's just amazing in general. She's like another parent to me :P

2 Porsches in her garage. It's high time you returned the favor by introducing her to 6speedonline.

To be honest I wouldn’t trust any 18 year old with a P-car. Coming from the Subaru WRX/STI crowd, I have seen how stupid kids can be with a car that is more power than there 2 years’ worth of driving experience can handle. That said, I am sure your Aunt has thought that possibility through, so you must be one level headed kid for her to allow you to take it out alone. Mon grats.

I know what you mean.....she definitely did think it through. I've taken skip barber's high performance driving school and other classes, so I like to think that I'm a better driver than most 18 year olds. Whether I actually am better, that's up for other people to decide :P

pls take my advice very seriously - never drive somebody else`s car you cannot pay for yourself if you smash it. it is just an advice and it does not matter how good do you think you are or realy are - just do not do it. never mind how nice that car is and you will see a lot of nice cars around - unless you have a signed waiver from the owner, not a verbal 'OK' - do not drive it.
you can destroy your own property any way you like of course. if you destroy somebody else`s property and they like you enough not to file a lawsuit against you - it is still a quite nasty thing and people never forget it.

property of your parents/guardians it not your property. save up, work, get your own budget and buy your own used p-car you can afford and you will gain the heck of our respect.
i saw on rennlist somebody is selling his spec boxster for $8500 or so - that is a good price range for you to be in and not to pose next to somebody`s brand new $100K 997. and you will see yourself what difference it will make.

Good topic actually. With all those teenager deaths each spring - it is quite valid thing to speak of.

I started driving when I was 17 or 18 I think and I had my first accident about of an year and a half later - I was very careful I thought :) but as skills improve you just start getting around faster and loose your fear.
Considering the simple fact that an 'anticipation' of a possible accident does not exist yet it naturally results eventually in you hitting a car ahead of you when that car does something you did not expect it to do.

it takes years to develop a concrete feel of what your braking distance will be in what street conditions but to drive safe one really needs to get a sample of that certain stomach feel when you have your brakes into the floor and you slowly observe as your car approaches that solid target in front of you that costs 4-5 times more than POS you drive now and how it feels when there is nothing left you can do at all and you smash into it.
simple life experience, as with anything else, there is no substitute for it, it`s the only cure for any stupidity.

only point I am making here - there are no drivers that did not have at least one first accident. exceptions from this rule are extremely rare. so until one got it and developed their own understanding WHY it must be a safe distance between cars on the road they must observe and how one should get around safely - driving expensive cars is quite stupid. I went over all that with my wife when she started driving with her denying all my 'safe' advices - keep your distance, you are too close - well, exactly until she smashed into somebody. now she keeps distance just fine. like i said - no other cure for it.
