997.1 Full Load Tire Pressure
997.1 Full Load Tire Pressure
So, my TPMS has been learning for about a week now and it's driving me crazy.
when going through the settings and looking at the manual, I see that for full load the psi should be 36/44. Does anyone actually have experience with that high a psi? I would imagine the car would feel like a riding on rocks.

I think the additional weight, in turn, puts additional compression on the tires resulting in a higher PSI - the idea being if the car is loaded, that's the correct PSI for inflation. So you don't inflate to 36/44 and then load the car, rather you load the car 1st, then inflate to the correct pressure.
It is similar to inflating at different temperatures (other than 68F) - my car on the highway reads 37/43 (sometimes more) after the tires heat up.

Hmmmm... went for a long family trip today with my psi set at 35.5/44 before everyone got in (wife and two 4 year olds). Actually, I loved the feel of it. I might be crazy but the ride felt softer. Almost like I could feel the suspension working more.
Regardless, The TPMS system read learning for about 30 minutes and then just switched to inactive.
