im now investigating car audio options. it has the pcm 2.1 with navi and bohse. Im missing ipod connectivity. 997 has a lot of structual improvement .
the xenon lights were torn off my 996 (in minutes) by theives. The 997 lights are subject to less theft risk.
upgraded PCM .
better quality leather
less rattles .
997 also had less engine problems

I had 2 996 cars (an 00 and ann 02) . I don't miss them at all.

PS --If you really want to save money with an older model the 993 is the car to get .
