Do you re-flash before every service?

Greetings,

I have purchased the Softronic update for my 07 911 C4S. The car is a CPO with 22k miles.

I'm curious if others with warranty remaining and Softronics revert back to the factory settings before every service if taking it to a dealer?

Thanks!

doubt it, its not like the dealer flashes the car every service to override it.

when i had a flashed audi with revo software i returned it to stock before every dealer visit. Took 10 seconds. Pretty simple way to hopefully avoid any painful 'warranty' conversations...Would do the same with my 997 if it was still under warranty.

I think the bigger question here is... Does Porsche software have a flash counter in it?

This was a big discussion on the Corvette board... I had my Z06 dyno'd/tuned by Vengeance Racing in Cumming, GA.

Mike Carnahan (owner/tuner) told me that on Corvettes, there is absolutely NO flash counter on computer, nor is there any way for GM to detect that you have modded the ECU. The only vehicles GM has a flash counter on are their diesel trucks. This was verified by a couple GM service techs on the forum.

Now that's GM's vehicles... what about Porsche? We really need a service tech to chime in here to verify what can/cannot be seen.
