OP: If you just want better/lower look go with springs. As Tom mentioned you do need to get an alignment after the installation!
No excess rear tire wear? I fully admit (and disclosed) that my knowledge is based purely on reading and speaking to people, and not from experience. I'd say your experience trumps my reading / research, and I sometimes wonder if I over-bought. Knowing that I eventually want to track the car - I figure that worst case, I upgraded my suspension early.

Back to the OP, I suppose there are a bunch of opinions out there, as you've seen in the past for other questions, and you have to sort through them to find the answer that fits you.
