this is for a black interior color 997 Carrera S

 

Lately we had a customer ordered a Sport type steering wheel conversion for his 997, he never knew his 997 had a standard type steering wheel till the shop tried to install the steering wheel.
Porsche 997 MK1 (also for 987 Boxster and Cayman) had two types of steering wheel
- Sport Type: came with a circle shape airbag, with 3 silver tabs left, right and bottom. The Silver tabs would be replaced with tiptronics buttons for Auto models
- Standard Type: came with a triangle shape airbag, with two tabs on sides and Y-trim at the bottom. Side tabs can be plain, tiptronics buttons, multi-function control and sometimes even bulti-function with tiptronics shifting.
Each type steering wheel cores are generic, for example if you have a tiptronics standard type steering wheel and purchase a alcantara standard type came with plain tabs, you can easily transfer the shifting buttons from the original steering wheel to the alcantara wheel, no additional part needed.
The circle shape airbag will NOT fit the triangle shape standard type steering wheel.
