Im wondering which you would see better performance from? I currently have the evoms intake, but im curious to see what you guys think bc it seems like alot of hot air from the engine compartment gets sucked in the big opening over the filter.. where as with the x-51 it is completely closed. What do you guys think? Is anybody selling a x-51 intake for a decent price?

 

Thats a tough one, the x51 box in carbon fiber is beautiful. The opening on the Evo box is designed to seal up to the decklid when it is closed so no air from the engine bay can enter. Its left open for aesthetics and makes it easy to inspect and clean the filter. If the Evo box is installed correctly it should give you more power, hard to beat tbe look of the x51 box though.

 

This has been pretty well hashed over on Rennlist; do an "airbox" search there. Both systems supposedly add 10-12 HP so no differences? Evolution claims that most of the Grand AM Porsches have their box. AWE has the X-51 as part of some of their packages - you could call Mike at AWE for his more expert opinion.
