Congratulations. This is just the begining of a lifelong infection that spreads very fast and there is no cure.....The PORSCHE virus is very contagious. Black on black is very classy BTW.

Well, I would drive it all year round, but I know that some people take a different approach.

I love that color combination. It was a year and six days ago today that I bought my own first Porsche. Congratulations.

lol.. yes.. well realistic dream car.. shouldn't dream too high or else I'll go through life never actually accomplishing it .. then again.. only 31 so maybe there's hope in a Zonda R lol

first newb question...
What's the difference 997.1 vs 997.2? Are we talking about generation here? If so.. I am assuming that since mine is a 2007, I am the first generation?

second question ...looking for a sportier sounding exhaust..which one should I install ? I'll do some search on Gundo hack ....

Congratulations on fulfilling a life-long desire. You will not be disappointed. It is all it is supposed to be, and more. Enjoy the car, the driving, and the camaraderie with other sports car owners.
Looking forward to hearing from you after the car arrives.

I would recommend you use the search button as this is a common question from every newbie. In '09 Porsche performed the mid-cycle refresh to the 997 models beginning with the MY09 cars. They did some minor cosmetic changes to the body (LED lights) along with some changes to the interior (PCM/(universal audio interface for iPods). However the biggest change is the engine (Direct fuel injection) and the auto transmission front (PDK), which took the place of the Tiptronic.

Here are some of the changes for the 997.2.

New generation of engines with direct fuel injection DFI
• 3.6-liter Boxer engine with 345 hp
• 3.8-liter Boxer engine with 385 hp
• 7-speed Porsche Double-clutch PDK.
• Drive-Off Assistant
• PASM sports chassis (-20 mm)
• New brake system for the 3.6-liter models
• EnhancedTire Pressure Monitoring System
• Bi-Xenon headlights with headlight cleaning system now also standard for
3.6-liter models
• New Porsche Communication Management (PCM)
• Enlarged exterior mirrors with new design
• XM satellite radio (SDARS)(optional)
• Universal audio interface (optional)
• Cell phone preparation (Bluetooth®HFP) (optional)
