Anyone have suggestions of where I can take my 997.1 C4S Cab for the Gundo Hack in Seattle?

My Plan is to do the Gundo Hack 1st, if all works well, then I would stick with it, or I would save up for PSE.

Any muffler shop can do the hack. Take them a picture of the hack and tell them what diameter pipe you want and they can cut and weld the pipe into place based on the picture. I might suggest you use a pic with an example of quality weld joint. There are couple of different opinions on the proper diameter and I have read of examples anywhere from 1 to 2 " so a search on this site might help you decide which one you want. For my money 1 1/2 " sounds about right to me.

 

You could also yank the mufflers (quite easy) and send them off to Fister D motorsports. IIRC they charge $225-250 for the conversion, or they can send you a set of mufflers and you just send your cores in.

 

There will be labor charged for removing the rear bumper and the welding too. I'm guessing it took my mechanic 3 hours. I paid about $400.

I would recommend something less than 2" pipe. Mine is 2" and it is pretty loud. Maybe 1.75" is the sweet spot.
