Your Targa looks great! I have a 2008 Targa 4S, bought it a month ago, and have loved every minute of it! Enjoy in good health!

The Targa is the best suited model for golf clubs. I got them in the back of mine easily. The rear hatch helps immensely, and you have the extra depth due to the Bose subwoofer not being back there.

Also, you may need to get used to this when you park your car:

Congrats.... I have a 2009 Targa 4s and love it..... The only problem you may have is squeeks from the glass roof when it gets cold..... I think getting a 6 speed is a better choice than my PDK..... Enjoy....

What a great way to enter the world of Porsche ownership! Congratulations on a beautiful car and on snagging a Targa.

Golf clubs are MUCH easier with both the Targa and the width of the 996 / 997. In the 993 / previous - you had to take out the driver / long clubs to fit the bag in the back.

And retrofit a rear wiper? News to me. If someone knows how to pull this off, I'm VERY interested.

Bravo! Classic combo.

RE: golf clubs. From the pic above it looks like any sort of rush to get them in, especially the stand legs, would scratch the interior sides. And it appears nothing larger than a standard stand bag will fit.

Do you need to wiggle them around to get in place or after a few attempts does it become an easy in/out thing?

Thanks.

Again, congrats.

edit: Does anyone know of a sunblock type application for the glass? A snug and somewhat stable panel(s)?
Thanks.

Depending on the size of golf bag, one does have to be careful. But at least with some care they do fit in there, even if they have to be at an angle.
There is no need for sun block. The glass on the top rejects over 80% of UV, and the new shades (2008 and later) do a good job at preventing glare. Don't know what you mean by "a snug and somewhat stable panels".
