What sort of milage are you getting out of your rears
PS2's on my 09 and 17k miles and they are in great shape. I will probably get 28-30k miles from the rears, maybe more.
The people that drive on the street and are only getting 10K or so miles out of the rears have an alignment issue. It's not so much the rear camber but the amount of rear toe that kills the tires. I run -2 camber in the rear (-2.3 up front) and my rear toe is .12.

Anybody try the Conti Extreme Contact DW's? They look to be the latest contender to challenge the PS2's. I see a set of the N2 PS2's are now $1800! That's crazy. The new Conti is only $270 in a 305 rear... Almost as cheap as the Hankooks and probably better.

Wow - interesting. I gotta talk to my shop about that. But I have never gotten that kind of mileage from Pilots on BMW M cars - I just figured that was par for the course. Mine now at 9K are easily half done.
The worst I ever got was 6K . The best I ever got was 13K .
On my current cars I replaced the Turbo rears at 9K .
I still have the rears on the C2S (6200 miles).
A rough average =7500

Yep...I'll take pics of the rears and the odometer to prove it. Most of these cars are not aligned properly from the factory...it's a known issue....and some tech put way to much toe int he rear. The camber will not kill the rear like toe will...toe will cause the tires to drag across the pavement. However you have to have some toe in the rear for stablity in these cars. Anywhere from .12 to 14 degrees is good for th track and great for the street and this is still with in your cars alignment specs too.
295's are more than enough for the street >Plus you'll get better acceleration with the 295's too. 305's are not that much wider to make any difference.
You don't need to do that. I'll take your setting suggestions with me next time I get into service.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Rear tires on a 911 should wear faster on the inside edge if the car is aligned correctly the way the factory intends.

Be careful only looking at the wear bars. With a bit of negative camber the inside part of your rears could be riding on the steel belts and you'll still not be to the wear bars. It's pretty hard to look at the inside edge without having the car on a lift or pulling the tires off. 12k is pretty much all you would expect to get.
thanks RYEM3, I just looked and you are right. One of the tires is probably about 1K away from going south. The other looks pretty good. I probably should have gotten my alignment done when everyone told me to!!
