Get what you can afford NOW and keep working; then in a year or two or three you will have had some enjoyment, some aggravation, and the opportunity to decide if you really want to upgrade. I know several financially secure people with Boxsters/Caymans who are very happy and have no desire to boost the horsepower or ego.
