Amazing sounding exhaust...
Please do post videos and I love your SC setup. BTW, I'm hacking my cans this week with SS 1.75" pipe, but reserving the right to go to sports cats if needed. Besides, I'm only looking for a simple exhaust note change at WOT and non droning cruising for the first go around. I prefer to run mostly stock for now.
It sounds very nice and has the flexibility to change the exhaust note with the valvetronic set-up, but I will bet it is very expensive, probably 4-5K at least. Anybody have the price? Also, any dyno info available on HP/TQ gains?
but indeed it sounds amazing compared to everything I´ve heard from the competition.
I've spent more on creating the right sound than I care to recall, testing various combinations of cans (mufflers), pipes (cats, straight), and headers, and intake.
There are simply a zillion combinations and permutations.
These are my, possibly rambling, observations:
-Fabspeed quality is iffy
-AfterHours are not cans, they're glass pack pipes, and the drone, no matter the cat, is not sustainable
-OEM Sport Exhaust is overpriced, and heavy
-GundoHack cans sound very much like OEM sport exhaust, but are not adjustable, though they are much lighter
-Cargraphic make 2 versions, loud or quiet, they are very well made, and sound quite nice
-AWE 200 cell sport cats, with HJC German cell cats, are #1, period, end of conversation (that's my $.02)
-Air into, and out of, any engine, is part of sound. What many love about the "angry" sound of my supercharged to 530hp 997S, is that I am forcing a lot of air through a pure 3.8L flat 6 engine, then letting out with AWE sport cats and Gundo Hack'd cans.
I will do my best to post some track and street pics soon. But I will tell you this from my recent day at Little Talladega: my 997SC sounded more angry, and more determined than the Ferrari F360 Challenge Stradalle. And mine is street legal.

I have almost same exhaust setup from fabspeed. Its valvetronic as well and sound very very good.Being able to switch between is nice but i always leave valves open...it is just so intoxic!!!!!1
I'm only interested in sound modifications only since I will be signing up for professional race instruction. I feel no amount of bolt on mods (well maybe a super charger) will make up for the time lost before, during and exiting any turn. And I'm only talking about me.

Do you mean "je ne sais quoi"? I don't mean to be fastidious, I just have a thing for languages. It's akin to "yo no sé qué" in Spanish.

This combo sounded awesome... tubi mufflers gave it the pitch, and the sport cats gave it the volume.
That is one sick sounding exhaust - really turns it into a different car. Wow.
