I had my outside mirrors stolen off my 05 Audi S4 a week after I bought it. Apparently there were a total of 11 S4's hit on the same night for the mirrors (a bunch at the dealers as well).

Reminds me of an incident that happened to me in 1987 in Manhattan. Parked a Suzuki GSXR-1100 in front of a friends apt on the second floor of the upper east side. I happened to look outside at the exact time two guys were "slap hammering" the ignition out. I raced downstairs and, after a five block chase, one of the individuals was transported to Bellevue Hospital for some head shaving and stiching. The attempted grand theft charges were dropped to "disorderly conduct" which is basically nothing. The poor, young 19 year old fellow I caught, 6'3, 230 had no priors. Ah, the good old days, now Id yell and scare the guys away!!!..................................Be safe and be aware of where you park and your surroundings..................
I am sure he can find those wheels on ebay or craigs list

Same happened to me in 1996 in Maryland. I came out at 4am (anesthesia resident) and as I tried to put the key in the door, I found my 328is was 5 inches lower than expected. Wasn't a good enough excuse being late to work though...

What does that have to do with anything?

That IS a Hertz rental Corvette ZHZ. They're the only ones that come in that "unique" yellow/black color combo.

Makes them easier to spot.

I remember having a 5.0 back in the day. I went to the Giants game back at Candlestick park and the thieves broke into every car on the block. When they got two mine they hit a goldmine cause I had just installed a nice sound system with speakers and one of the first removable faces back then. Scum! all they had to do was bust a side window. But they busted the rear window too.

In 1972 I had the bucket seats stolen out of my Fiat 850 Spyder sitting in front of my house in suburbia. After calling around to dealerships to find one that had a spare set of seats (wondering what I'd do if they tried to sell me my own seats), I drove there sitting in a kitchen chair on the floor of the car.

Same thing happened to my friend's Honda Fit two months ago in Atlanta. The insurance company had a flatbed come pick it up and they had to drag it onto the flatbed, doing even more damage just to get it into the shop!

What do you do? Guess it pays to have friends with the same car or spare wheel/tire sets....

hmmmm

wow some weak looking calipers and thin rotors? Maybe just the pic but even for stock this looks like a poor brake set up for a sports car?

Such thieves should have their fingers lobbed off in the city square.....
