Is your 997 a garbage eater too?
Is your 997 a garbage eater too?
I was just doing some routine obsessing over my 911 yesterday and I decided to clean up the area in the front bumper right in front of the radiators. I only cleaned this 6 month ago so I figure how much could there be... My findings:
At least 20 full sized dried oak leaves
10+ road pebbles covered in tar
5 acorns
4 cigarette butts
3 Styrofoam peanuts
1 6x6 inch piece of cardboard!
1 dead squirrel (j/k)
I can't believe how much stuff was in there. Albeit I live in a dirty city (NYC) but this was a lot of garbage! I actually got the vacuum out and sucked up all the small pieces of crap still left in there after pulling everything out by hand. So my question to you is:
1. How often do you clean the area?
2. Does it really cause a problem for people that don't clean that area?
3. Can you imagine how much junk would be in there for less obsessive owners?

1. Every time my car gets detail, maybe twice to 3 times a month.....
2. I wouldn't think so, but just knowing that list of items could be inside your air ducts is pretty disturbing i must say.....lol
3. I couldn't even imagine someone owning a car like that and not taking care of it....
Yeah, we should really get a tax rebate since we're doing so much street sweeping!
BTW you aren't really obsessive until you realize the things in front are just the AC condensors, and you have to take the bumper off and move the condensors to get to the radiators and clean out all the gunk that gets caught between them!

I want a sanitation plate! OMG! Crap can get pass the condensors? Ignorance is bliss! Don't tell me about any more of it...
Hardly needed a couple of times a month. Recently did mine for the first time in a year. Apparently the cooling is not a factor, but if those leaves rot they can corrode the radiators, then you're in for trouble. Best to do it periodically, about the same time you clean the gutters of your house - unless you live in the city! After the Fall...
