Found oil in throttle body 997.2 S

Hey everyone,

Title sums it up,
Yesterday i was removing my filter(cleaning) and found a small amount of oil on the back of the throttle body valve. Wiped it off, drove the car around and after a drive time of about 2 hours with some WOT accelerations, the inside of the throttle body has oil again. No puddles or anything its just a tiny amount that seems to be on the back of the throttle valve.

i would appreciate any help since i couldn't find any info on the issue after searching.

This could be a sign that the AOS is not functioning correctly. Obviously it's not a full AOS failure or it would be much worse.

A quick search indicates this can happen if the AOS seals have a small leak.

Maybe you over-oiled your K&N filter. Get a clean paper towel or rag and dab all the excess off the filter.

thanks for the reply,

Im sure its engine oil and not from the filter.
Is there any other sign or symptom to look for in order to be sure its the AOS thats going bad?

Vacuum at the gas cap

Oil smoke from the exhaust

Oil in the tube from the AOS to the TB
