I had a 997S 2007 and ran that one against some stiff competition. Due to an unfortunate oversteer incident, I now have a 997S 2009. Just getting used to the different cars. You might be surprised by my take on them. Ask me anything.

OK. Please compare and contrast the 2007 vs 2009.

The better part of my experience is thrilling... Don't write me off for having gone past a limit once. You'd be better off asking what happened.

Video would be better. I know from personal experience that video is the truth and driver accounts might make for a good story but accuracy is often lacking

Actually the over and over part was better... The track is fun, but screwing it up once in real life is what learning is about...

I just hope our paths never cross on the public road - use the track to push the limits, keep the public roads safe before you hurt an innocent bystander.

The short version.

1. The new engine doesn't sound nearly as good as the old (09s vs. 07s). The added power is great, but the experience is less.

2. The new S does not track on center like the 2007. It just doesn't feel as solid. It may be the PSM, but it has a little wiggle on turn in that the 2007 didn't. I think the computer steps in a bit more and has more control than it did in the 2007. I think I liked the on/off character of the 2007 sport mode more than the {computer is in control} character of the 2009. They are not the same.

3. The Bose in the 2007 was incredible. I have the base sound in the 2009 and it is not nearly as good.

4. I love the new features in the 2009, but all together, they do not work as well as the 2007 S with all its features.
