If you were to own one 911 ... Which one would it be ?
Thank you guys. The 3.2 will stay put in my garage. I drive it twice a week and love evry minute of it. I will test drive a GTS at the next time I am in the vicinity of a P-car dealership and see if the drive is that much different than my C4S. If not then the answer is easy. Change nothing. If the difference is night and day then I may reconsider the swap when all the insanity on a new model slows down. Again even for me, make no mistake: Family comes first.
The GTS is remarkably cool and rare! And from what I've read about your tastes and preferences, there are no mods needed to the GTS for YOU.
If you have the means, I think the GTS is the way to go because it will always be a conversation piece. It is rare and you won't see another one at "Cars and Coffee" etc.
However, there is something sooooo sinister about the GT2 (and especially the GT2 RS). I'm not sure what a kidney goes for on the black market . . . but I've thought about it :-)
BTW, the decision NOT to get rid of the 3.2 is correct IMO. Its value on the market does not match its value to you. That makes it a keeper!

Whatever you get, GT3 or GTS (can't go wrong either way man), make sure it has a couple new features you didn't have before. It will keep you interested for a while. ha.
I've recently been thinking about a cabriolet with PASM...maybe a Carrera S, GT Silver, adaptive sports seats...I know, totally useless for me and I need to stop thinking about it.

Only one 911,loving the widebody, and PDK?
Financially --keep your car .
Otherwise .. Turbo S PDK.
1) It has the widebody (that you like) but is not over the top in agressive styling (that you don't want) like the Gt3.
2) It will blow the doors off the GtS .
3) The redesign won't happen for at least two yearsand if there is any type of Turbo hiatus the resale can go up . The GTS will sink in contrast.
4) It has enough luxury that even your wife might find certain aspects of the car more civilized than her Cayenne S.
5) It has AWD .. for rain and snow of your region.

I think you should
stay put. Seems like your two cars are the perfect duo. The GTS is sweet and if I were buying a 911 now I would go that route but I don't think its worth the bath I would take to trade my C2S in for it.
You guys are so good. That's why this place is more than a vacation home for me. I appreciate all the sincere and valid input.Eric, my 3.2 is such a rare gem. Original engine, transmission that pulls so strong and shifts so well and an interior and exterior that is 9.5 out of ten. I want to share these pics of that beauty. I am sure you all won't mind me doing that. The condition of the original Fuch's wheels (as seen on the picture) tells you how caring the previous owner (a long time Porsche race car mechanic who bought the car for his wife who too was a car enthusiast) was.

if I would have $130K in free cash right now I would get one of those '08 GT2 cars you can see on cars.com. That is definitely a rarity and cheaper than new turbo S.
Plus .. one car means daily driver . Gt2 might be a bit challenging as a daily.
He will have two quasi-collectibles and worry even more over them. He just needs a plain ol' 997 to drive and enjoy and not fuss over so much - wait - he already has that.
well said.
